T Y Π Α Ν Α Percussion Ensemble returns to its new home: The Athens Conservatoire College of Music

Under the guidance of its founder, MusicAeterna’s solo timpanist and professor Dimitris Desyllas, fulfilled with its rich to date course, the ensemble has major collaborations to display, as the ones with the Zurich Ballets, the Camerata Friends of Music Orchestra, the Athens Festival with Steve Reich’s emblematic composition “Drumming”, the International Dance Festival of Kalamata, Stegi-Onassis Cultural Center with the homage to Japanese composition for percussion, the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, with pinnacle the presentation of Iannis Xenakis composition “ Pleiades”, and more.
With a vast repertoire of compositions from John Cage to Maki Ishii and from Toru Takemitsu to Lou Harrison and Iannis Xenakis, the ensemble comes to create in spectrum· educative, executive, in synergy with artists of all form of Art from the international scene.
The ensemble, aspiring to illuminate every aspect of percussion instruments, gazes at the future offering access to young students with ongoing master classes, seminars and participatory processes, ordering new compositions, creating a new world of innovative sound colors and of course presenting the international repertoire in its entirety.
