The concert will feature combinations of the following musical instruments: flute, guitar, percussion, violin, cello, piano, harp as well as vocal music works.

The concert takes place as part of the “Instrumental Ensembles” and “Musical Theatre” courses of the current academic semester.

It is worth noting that the students’ presence at the concert is evaluated as part of their academic performance and the presence of an audience has a positive and encouraging effect on their artistic performance.

The concert will take place on 9th January 2024 at 7pm at the Aris Garoufalis Auditorium of the Athens Conservatoire.

Entrance is free and everyone is most welcome.

The British Embassy in Athens with the support of the British Council in Greece is holding two events where representatives from more than 40 universities will showcase the UK higher education opportunities available to prospective Greek students and will answer all their questions.

The Athens Conservatoire College of Music, but also Goldsmiths, University of London, will be present in both events, in Athens and Thessaloniki, and will welcome anyone who wishes to meet us and find out more about the Bachelor of Music (Hons) programme.

The event in Athens will take place on Wednesday 22 February 2023, 14.00–18.00 and will be hosted in our very own premises at the Athens Conservatoire, so our visitors will also have the opportunity to get to know our iconic building at the centre of Athens.

The event in Thessaloniki will take place at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall on Thursday 23 February 2023, 13.00–17.00.

The ACCM welcomes its first-ever, 1st year undergraduate students for the 2022/23 academic year.

Following a rigorous admission and audition process, the first students selected to study for the Bachelor of Music degree programme, created by the Athens Conservatoire in collaboration with Goldsmiths, University of London, are following an enrolment week, starting Monday 26/9.

The induction programme aims to familiarize our students with the academic and administrative staff of the college, the building and its facilities and get to know the Music, Drama and Dance schools and the Research Centre of the Athens Conservatoire. During the week, the students also visit and acquire their individual passes for the prestigious Music Library “Lilian Voudouri” housed at the “Megaron Athens Concert Hall”, the premier classical music venue of Athens.

The students were welcomed by Nikos Tsouchlos, President of the Board of Directors of the Athens Conservatoire, Dimitris Marinos, Principal of the ACCM, Louisa Tsougaraki, Dean, Maria Efstratiadis, Head of Department and Katerina Sotiropoulou, Head of Admissions and Student Services.

T Y Π Α Ν Α Percussion Ensemble returns to its new home: The Athens Conservatoire College of Music

Under the guidance of its founder, MusicAeterna’s solo timpanist and professor Dimitris Desyllas, fulfilled with its rich to date course, the ensemble has major collaborations to display, as the ones with the Zurich Ballets, the Camerata Friends of Music Orchestra, the Athens Festival with Steve Reich’s emblematic composition “Drumming”, the International Dance Festival of Kalamata, Stegi-Onassis Cultural Center with the homage to Japanese composition for percussion, the Megaron Athens Concert Hall, with pinnacle the presentation of Iannis Xenakis composition “ Pleiades”, and more.
With a vast repertoire of compositions from John Cage to Maki Ishii and from Toru Takemitsu to Lou Harrison and Iannis Xenakis, the ensemble comes to create in spectrum· educative, executive, in synergy with artists of all form of Art from the international scene.
The ensemble, aspiring to illuminate every aspect of percussion instruments, gazes at the future offering access to young students with ongoing master classes, seminars and participatory processes, ordering new compositions, creating a new world of innovative sound colors and of course presenting the international repertoire in its entirety.
